Leading social organizations join forces to launch the Futureproof Incubator
Six frontrunners in the field of social entrepreneurship and new leadership will launch the Futureproof Incubator this September. Projects and students that represent a socially entrepreneurial society join the Futureproof Incubator. A society in which people work together to solve social challenges and contribute to a better neighbourhood, school and city. The Futureproof Incubator is a major step in the transition to a more sustainable Netherlands.
Futureproof is an initiative of Starters4Communities, Social Impact Factory, Fawaka Ondernemersschool and Social Enterprise NL. Enactus Netherlands and the YIM Community joined this partnership in 2021.
With the Futureproof Incubator, the organizations want to make social entrepreneurship accessible to all students based in the Netherlands. The program gives students the opportunity to make social impact in an entrepreneurial way, driven by their own talent and motivation. That fresh perspective and intrinsic motivation are the perfect ingredients for an impactful project.
In the Futureproof Incubator, students work on entrepreneurial solutions for societal challenges. In teams they develop sustainable or social products and services or continue working on an existing social enterprise.
The Futureproof Incubator is part of the Maatschappelijke Diensttijd (MDT). MDT is a journey of discovery for young people between the ages of 14 and 27 to the best version of themselves. MDT offers them an opportunity to discover new talents, to be meaningful, to meet people they would not otherwise meet and to make choices for the future.
Within the Futureproof Incubator, acting up and experiencing are central. In the practice-oriented training programs, students develop both soft skills and hard skills. They work on personal leadership, learn to work according to the design thinking method and practice pitching their idea.

More than 150 students from fifteen different higher education institutions will start the Futureproof Incubator in the new academic year. In various online and offline training courses, the students receive a boost in their development into entrepreneurial and responsible leaders within six months.

About the organizations
Enactus Netherlands is a partnership between students, higher education and the business community. The aim is to enable students to develop into entrepreneurial and responsible leaders. They do this by tackling social issues in an entrepreneurial way.
Starters4Communities strives for a social entrepreneurial society, formed bottom-up by changemakers. Starters4Communities offers training and development programs with which they train participants to become effective changemakers with their own vision.

Social Enterprise NL is the driving force behind the movement of social entrepreneurs and facilitates a learning network of social enterprises. Social Enterprise NL connects and strengthens these entrepreneurs and works on a more favorable ecosystem.
Young Impactmakers Community (YIM) is our national community for young changemakers. Anyone can join. They share tips, organize events and create networking opportunities. Everything for a career with impact!
